“The Lotus Flower blooms most beautifully from the deepest and thickest mud”
— Buddhist proverb
There is mud for a reason…Mud helps us slow down and embrace change for beautiful growth.
We live in a world that is changing at a rapid pace. Technology and social media constantly shows the importance of ambition, efficiency, and getting things done NOW. And if you aren’t busy, multitasking, doing everything possible all at once, we are labeled unproductive and lazy, something akin to a sloth.
Nature shows us growth does not hurry.
Embrace this moment to pause, breathe, rest, and reflect. Remember this, tiny seeds planted in the muddy ground take a long time to sprout up into the sunlight. Pause and reflect on what you would like to grow, then embrace the change that follows. Change is essential for new growth. A yoga retreat is a wonderful way to help implement change and take steps toward your goals.
Growth isn’t easy. Seeds sit in the muddy ground, in the dark, preparing for what comes next. The seed has to crack open and lift up from the mud into the sunshine in order to grow into a beautiful new shape. This amazing transformation takes time, and could be uncomfortable too. While sitting in the mud and waiting, the seed is actually preparing for a magnificent change. Brave and strong, the lotus does this every day.
The lotus flower is a symbol of strength, resilience, and rebirth. The lotus lives in a muddy environment and yet it thrives. Every day the beautiful lotus reaches up to the sun and blooms, untouched by the mud. Truly, the lotus is a reminder that we all survive many muddy things in life. Pausing in the mud is part of the necessary process of growth. Without the mud, there would be no growth. Without growth, things become stagnant.
Pause with awareness. Slow down. Welcome change with a deep breath. It’s important to practice self-care consistently to bloom and grow into your full potential. Your mind is a garden, and your thoughts are the seeds. With love and care, you can grow and bloom any dream!
A yoga retreat is a self-care opportunity to nurture yourself, relax, refresh, and grow into fresh possibilities.

Very inspirational. It reminds me that I have to move if i want to get better. It’s so easy to say I’ll do it tomorrow, but i need to move my body and do the things i think about doing. I’ve started to do just that and I’m noticing a difference. Now I need to make it a habit.
